Figure This!

Since there are 12 months in a year, a person’s birth month has 12 different possibilities.

For this problem, to make it simpler, assume the probability of being born in any given month is 1/12.

If there are two people in the room, what is the probability that the second person’s birthday occurred in a different month from the first person’s?

If there are three people in a room, what is the probability that all three people have birthdays in different months?
